HOW TO KNOW MY HAT SIZE?

We have some instructions for you on how to measure your head properly to find out your hat size.

MEASURE YOUR HEAD

✅​ You will need to have a cloth tape measure handy and it will help to have someone else help you to ensure accuracy.

✅​ Don't pull the tape measure too tight or the hat will fit just as snug. Measure exactly how you like to wear your hats.

✅​ Don't try to measure the inside of the hat, this never works. It's much easier and more accurate to measure your head or have help.

✅​ Looking in a mirror, start measuring from the center of your forehead, one centimeter above your eyebrows.

✅​ Gently run the tape measure around your head, about a finger's width above your ears, to the most prominent point on the back of your head.

✅​ Gather the tape at the starting place in the center of your forehead. It is recommended to measure three times for accuracy.

✅​ There is no one correct fit in general. Whatever feels right to you. It is a matter of personal preference.

✅​ A tighter hat stays on better for active people, windy environments and those who like their hats to sit high on the head.

✅​ A looser hat is more comfortable, sits lower and works well when worn for an extended period of time (more than 3 hours).

✔️​ DO I GET THE SAME SIZE IN ALL RACEU STYLES?

No. There are a couple of different factors that affect sizing. Different styles fit differently due to the shape and materials of the hat.

Our molds are handmade, so while we try to keep the sizing consistent across all shapes, due to the handmade nature, sizes will vary slightly from style to style.

Different materials will also make the hat feel differently on your head.

For example, our Florence boater and our Venice boater will fit differently in the same size because the wool and straw expand differently on the head.

✔️​ HOW DO I KNOW IF MY HAT FITS AS IT SHOULD?

The hat should sit comfortably on your head without feeling pressure. If you are between sizes, we recommend you size up and use a size reducer to fill in the extra space.
